My Mother's Lasagna

2 Tbsp. salad oil

1/2 cup minced onions

1 lb. ground chuck

2 cloves garlic

1-1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

1/4 tsp. oregano

3 Tbsp. parsley flakes

1 can tomatoes

1 can (8oz.) tomato sauce

grated parmesan cheese

1/2 lb. lasagna noodles

3/4 lb. mozzarella cheese

1 lb. ricotta or cottage cheese

In hot oil in skillet saute onions. Add beef, cook, slice garlic, mash with salt. Add to beef with pepper, oregano, parsley, tomatoes, tomato sauce, 2 Tbsp. parmesan cheese, simmer covered 30 min.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cook lasagna noodles (if you have a large stockpot, you may be able to cook them all at once, otherwise cook them in batches).

In baking dish, put 1/2 of meat sauce, layer of noodles, layer of cheese, layer of ricotta, 2 Tbsp. parmesan. Repeat, ending with remaining sauce and parmesan.

Bake 30 min.
