Sironia Tea Room's Texas Wedge

Crust:

2 cups raw oatmeal

1/4 cup light brown sugar

1/4 cup cold butter

In a large bowl mix the oatmeal and sugar thoroughly. Add the butter to the dry ingredients until moist. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie pan to form a pie shell. Let stand to the side.

Filling:

1 can Borden's condensed milk

1 cup milk chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans

Layer these ingredients in the pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.

Let cool for 2 hours and serve either cold or hot with a scoop of ice cream for a rich delicious dessert.

This recipe came from my friends Gregory Keller and Wayne Manning, former owners of Max's Restaurant, which used to be in an old house on Austin Avenue in downtown Waco, Texas. Greg was one of the first people I knew who died due to AIDS.
