Turtles

Peel 1 package caramels, melt in double boiler with 3 Tbsp. condensed milk

Stir 1-1/2 cups chopped pecans into caramel.

Drop 3/4 tsp. on greased cookie sheet, put toothpick into each one, put in freezer.

While in freezer, mix 8oz. Hershey bar in top of double boiler with 1/4 bar of paraffin.

Take out of freezer. Dip, twirl, and set on waxed paper. While the chocolate is still soft, use a fork and your fingers to pull out the toothpick. You may also skip the toothpicks and just use a fork to dip the centers. Be very careful not to get any of the hot caramel or hot chocolate on your skin. It can burn you, and is hard to get off quickly. If it happens, run cold water over the affected skin, which will help quickly cool the caramel and chocolate. This one is probably not the best recipe for cooking with the kids.
